Chainsaw Man Fan Captures Himeno’s Cool Personality in Spot-On Cosplay

Devil Hunter of the Public Safety Division Himeno is brought to life in the Chainsaw Man Cosplay, which conveys swagger and coolness.

A Chainsaw Man fan has created an amazing cosplay of the Ghost Devil Contract holder.

The costume was designed and posted to Reddit for the benefit of a popular cosplayer Kerocchi. The costume features Himeno’s iconic eyepiece and chic black suit. The low angle of the image and the delicately balanced cigarette between two fingers emit an appearance of swagger and coolness.

He’s not the only Chainsaw Man fan favorite who has inspired some amazing cosplays recently. Another costume designer posted an accurate manga-style recreation of Reze and highlights the Bomb Girl’s intense green eye. Grayson Finn, a cosplay legend, showcased his portrayals of Kishibe the commander of Tokyo Special Division 4 in various ways. The character is depicted in two different versions that include Kishibe smoking a cigarette while the other is holding a bloody knife. Both of them have Kishibe’s distinctive facial marks.

Tatsuki Fujimo’s Chainsaw Man manga debuted in Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018 and was later moved to Shonen Jump+ 2020 where it will continue to be serialized. The plot centers around Denji who is a young man who has a massive debt that he must accept dangerous jobs to pay off his debt. Denji is enlisted by a shady government agency following his gangster bosses’ betrayal. Denji is part of the Public Safety Division and works with other Devil Hunters such as Himeno. He makes use of his unique ability to transform his legs into chainsaws, in the pursuit of monsters.

Chainsaw Man is top of the NYT bestsellers list

Although Chainsaw Man was only released just a few years ago it’s already one of the most popular manga ever. The series has sold more than 23 million copies across the world. The manga has also been featured in the NYT Bestsellers List multiple times and was awarded the Best Manga Category at the Harvey Awards both in 2021 and 2022.

The initial season of MAPPA’s Chainsaw Man anime was broadcast from October 2022 until December 2022. The show is starring Kikunosuke Asaya in the role of Denji, Mariya Ise as Himeno (Fairy Tail), Shogo Sakata as Aki (Fire Force), Tomori Kusunoki as Makima (The Misfits at Demon King Academy), and Fairouz Ali in Power (Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is a tough one for mobs). It’s not known whether Chainsaw Man will get a second season because of the weak performance of the original home video release.
