Stranger Things Prequel Trailer Sets Up Vecna’s Ominous Origin Story

The trailer teaser for Stranger Things: The First Shadow reveals that the live-stage production will focus on Vecna who is the antagonist of the series.

The teaser trailer of the Stranger Things live stage show has been made public. It is confirmed that it’s a un prequel that focuses on Vecna’s dark story of origin.

The official Twitter account for the stage production has the teaser. It includes the name of the prequel, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, and Hawkins’s 1959 setting. The animated sequence shows Henry Creel, a teenager who transforms into Vecna in silhouette. Upside Down Pictures and Netflix announced that the previously untitled Stranger Thingsstageshow was in development. The show will premiere in July 2022. The announcement also included the confirmation of Stephen Daldry, The Crown‘s stage show director, who was working on a script written by Kate Trefry.

Stranger things: The First Shadow is one of the many projects that were designed to ensure the series’ existence following the final and fifth seasons of the first Netflix series. A lot of viewers have voiced their wish to see Stranger Thingsto continue beyond Season five. However, a majority of the cast members aren’t in agreement. Finn Wolfhard, Mike Wheeler’s actor, stated that it was ridiculous to expand the Stranger Things story beyond the five seasons of the show in an interview. Wolfhard stated that he believes the creators of the show Matt and Ross Duffer would deliver “a perfect conclusion” in Season 5.

Stranger Things Stars Talk About the Future of the Show

David Habour, Wolfhard’s star David Habour, the star of Wolfhard, is also for Stranger Thingswrapping the show after five seasons. Harbor the actor who is Jim Hopper on the Sci-Fi/Horror Show, recently said that it was the right time for the show to come to an end to allow the Duffers could explore new creative projects. Harbour said, “[I] want] the Duffer Brothers to try other projects too.” “It’s incredible how talented these individuals are. I’m looking forward to seeing what they’ll do in the future. Harbour acknowledged, however, that it would be “very bittersweet” to film Stranger things season 5.

But it appears that the Duffers will not leave Stranger Things entirely after the final episode of the series. They’ve already come up with an idea of a Stranger Thingsspinoff that Wolfhard famously predicted. In an interview with the media, the actor recalled the Duffer’s shocked reactions when Wolfhard guessed the future of the series. “They were thinking, “That is the idea for the spinoff.” Who said that to you? I said, “No one ‘…” and they said, “Okay, well…don’t tell anyone.” Wolfhard replied.

Stranger things: The First Shadow opens at the Phoenix Theater in London, in the latter half of 2023.
