Shazam! Henry Gayden, Fury of the Gods author, reveals that a member of the World’s Mightiest Family (an element he fought to protect) is gay.
Pedro Pena, a Shazam Family member has been confirmed gay in Shazam! Henry Gayden, the DC movie’s co-writer and director of Fury of the Gods.
Gayden discussed Pedro’s sexual orientation during an interview with Dorkaholics and Chris Morgan, his collaborator in the sequel. Gayden said that the only addition to [ Fury of the Gods] would be being more outspoken about Pedro being homosexual. “And that was very subtly hinted at by the first movie. It was very important to me and I believe it is essential. This movie brings that to the forefront.

This isn’t the only time Pedro has been described as a character. descriptions for World’s Mightiest Family have previously revealed some interesting facts about him. He stated that he’s had “a newfound passion for baseball” and that he’s struggled with self-confidence. Some other descriptions of the Shazam Family include Billy Batson having doubts about his worthiness as Big Red Cheese’s eponymous Big Red Cheese. Freddy Freeman also has feelings for a new girl in school. The following clip revealed that the new girl is Anathea. This was one of Fury of the Gods_ villains, the Daughters of Atlas.
David F. Sandberg, the former director of the Shazam Family, discussed individual members and the incompetents of the Shazam Family. “They have all been superheroes for a long time, trying to stop crime or save people. But they aren’t very good at it. “The Philly Fiascos” is the nickname given to them by Philadelphia,” Sandberg observed at the time.

Asher Angel, the Billy Batson actor, expressed interest in SHAZM being fully integrated within the DC Universe by James Gunn (DC Studios co-head and filmmaker). I’m hoping that I [Billy Batson/Shazam] will be able to blend with other characters. But, who knows? No other Shazam projects have been announced after Fury of the Gods. Dwayne John Johnson has no plans to return to his role as Black Adam’s arch-nemesis in Shazam’s current projects.
